Please join me for a safety walk in the Laurel Business District on April 3rd, and April 7th for Sunday supper in Montclair Village!

Safety Walk in the Laurel Business District

Join me and the Oakland Police Department as they discuss safety tips in the Laurel Business District. Oakland Police officers will give demonstrations to retail and server staff to recognize and respond to incidents, including ways they can target harden their business. The Laurel District Association with the help of RBA Creative will video tape and share the tips and best practices on social media, website, and newsletter. Anyone interested in joining the Safety Walk is welcome to.

Montclair Village Sunday Community Supper

Join me and District 4's Oakland School Board Representative, Gary Yee, for Sunday Supper. As part of the Montclair Village Antioch Court Beautification Campaign please consider buying tickets to have Sunday supper with us. You'll get a chance to meet and chat with myself, your District 4 City Council Representative, and Gary Yee. Moreover, it's a family friendly community event, so invite your neighbors to join the festivities and meet others that live in your community. 

There will be performances by the Skyline Jazz Band, and Montera Cheer Team. Tickets start at $25 for adults and $15 for 17 and under.  See event details here

This event is hosted by local leaders and representatives, fellow Brick Supporters, School and Community Groups, Montclair Merchants, Montclair Village Association, Montclair Safety and Improvement Council, and Sponsors to celebrate and support the Antioch Court Beautification Streetscape Campaign.

OakDOT's Three-Year Paving Plan Community Presentation

The Oakland Department of Transportation (OakDOT) will be hosting a community meeting to present the 2019 Three-Year Paving Plan. OakDOT staff has developed a proposal that incorporates equity, street condition, and safety to prioritize repaving in the next three years, encompassing 2019-2021.

East Oakland Neighborhoods Initiative

Join East Oakland Neighborhoods Initiative (EONI) for a series of meetings in your neighborhood on projects and new ideas. Work with City of Oakland staff and resident leaders to design new programs and infrastructure for East Oakland. Results will guide future development in East Oakland. Free dinner, childcare and translation services will be provided. Wheelchair accessible.

Love Your Park Event

Join the Redwood Heights Association for Love Your Park event at Redwood Heights Park. Council District 4 Community Budget Meeting

Join us to learn more about the City’s budget process and provide input on how we should invest in our future. The annual budget is the most important policy action that the City Council takes and it represents the City’s priorities and values for the cities' 2-year budget.

I want to hear from you to make sure that the budget reflects the values and priorities of the community. The Mayor's budget proposal will be posted on May 1, 2019.
