Red Flag Warning - October 23, 2019

If this email was forwarded to you, please sign-up by clicking this link to receive updates
Good Afternoon,

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning until tomorrow, Thursday October 24th until 4:00pm. This means dry and windy conditions can increase the risk of fire danger.

At this time PG&E has no plans on shutting off power, however, we should be prepared for any chance of a power shutoff in case weather changes.

In the meantime please be mindful that Joaquin Miller Park is closed during the red flag warning, barbecues are prohibited in parks during this time, and please avoid any situations that could lead to fires.

The Oakland Fire Department will have extra patrols throughout the high fire risk zones. Please sign up for AC Alerts and PG&E Alerts to ensure you get up to date information. Our offices will also try to keep you updated on our Facebook and Twitter as well and will send out major updates via email.

In the meantime make sure you have an evacuation plan ready in just in case.

Sincerely,

Sheng Thao
Council Member, District 4
